Celebrate June, Celebrate Local
June Updates From Making SLO
June is here, bringing a little extra energy to downtown with longer days, celebrations, and new memories in the making. Thank you for continuing to support a community built on art, connection, and small businesses with big heart.
We have been very busy behind the scenes, exploring a slightly different approach to the business. We say “slightly” because we’ve already been running the business similar to a co-op. We feel very pulled in the direction of establishing a nonprofit to better serve the creative community and to help expand the vision of assisting local makers and artists in their businesses. If you have any experience in this space or advice that you think would be helpful, we welcome all insights! It’s a bit of a process, but we’re determined to figure out what’s best for the artists and what can help us further the mission.
Thank you again for your support! Every time you choose to shop local, you help us continue building something that means so much to us and the local artists who make up this beautiful community.
Thank you for being on this wild ride with us!
Celebrating local with you,
April & Matt

Scarlet Paintbrush Studio
Blair of Scarlet Paintbrush Studio works in illustration and printmaking, using oil pastels and hand-carved linoleum stamps to make art that feels rooted in the places she loves. Morro Bay shows up in her work a lot, that particular quality of light and coastline finding its way into prints, illustrations, and stickers.
